The May Tote carries the name of May Ziadé—one of the most influential voices in Arabic literature and intellectual life. In a time when women were expected to remain silent, she spoke with clarity, courage, and conviction. Through her essays, novels, and legendary literary salons, she shaped discourse, challenged traditions, and championed women’s place in the world of ideas. Her mind was her force, her words her legacy. This bag honors her fearless intellect—a tribute to the women who rewrite culture one sentence at a time.
